POSE SELFIE MUSEUM

STRIKE A POSE

Have you heard?! Owensboro is stepping up the (selfie) game thanks to the gals at Pose Selfie Museum. I’m still shocked that I’m even typing something so exciting, but it’s the real deal, y’all. Taylor Thurman and Baylee Hall are the beauty and brains we have to thank for bringing this idea to life. With over 20 unique spaces, color concepts and ring lights at every station, they’ve  ensured the museum has something for everyone.

I, for one, am always at a loss for what to do when the temps drop. We all get a little stir crazy staying in the house, there’s only so many trips we can make to the movies and I’ve hit up Target more times than I’d like to admit. Pose is the perfect excuse to put on a cute outfit, get your girlfriends together and go have a fun photo session! It’s a great destination for bachelorette parties, an office get together or for themed photos with little ones. Today I’m diving in with a guide on how to make the most of your visit, plus a peek at some of their unique spaces!

FIVE TIPS FOR VISITING POSE SELFIE MUSEUM

1 – PACK A BAG

There are over 20 unique spaces to get fun photos in Pose, so you’ll want a few outfit changes. Something as simple as adding a hat, changing tops or adding a cardigan will change up any outfit. Walk through all of the spaces and get an idea for what look you’re going to wear in each space before you get started. Bring a mix of colors, prints, accessories and styles so your pictures don’t all look like they were taken the same day. Pose has changing rooms, so it’s quick and easy to hop from one look to the next!

2 – GO ON A WEEKDAY

If your schedule permits, I highly recommend visiting during the week! Weekends are always going to be more crowded, so visiting during the week helps avoid waiting.  There’s a ton of photo ops, but if you have a specific outfit in mind for a space, going when there’s no crowds helps prevent feeling rushed when trying to get “the shot” in your favorite room! Pose also offers private parties, so I’d highly recommend utilizing that option if you’re going with a group.

3 – MOVE AROUND

I always fall into a few of my favorite poses because it’s just my thing. *insert photo of me looking up or looking down, always avoiding eye contact with the camera* Do your best to shake up your usual stance! Move around, play with your hair, put your hands in your pockets…. just move! You don’t want a row of photos with the same poses, so mix it up and have fun with it!

4 – UTILIZE THE RING LIGHTS

Hear me when I say this – ring lights are your bff. Indoor photos are always so tricky (hence why most of mine are done outdoors) because lighting is never even. Ring lights brighten up a space and get rid of the shadows from overhead lighting. The ladies at Pose know how important good lighting is, so they have a ring light at EVERY station. Use it, you won’t regret it!

5 – START UPSTAIRS

This is just the lazy girl in me talking, but I looked at Garrett as we did our walk through and said “we should start up here because I know I’ll be less motivated as we’re finishing up and won’t want to come up and down the stairs.” Afternoon Nic Nic was super thankful that morning Nic Nic made that call. I was so worn out by the time we finished that there’s no way I would have kept marching up and down the stairs! If you’re planning on getting a photo and changing up your look in every space, anticipate being there for a few hours.

In case you couldn’t tell, I’ve fully decided I’ll be spending my photoshoot days creating content here for the foreseeable future. 😂  This is just a glimpse at the stunning space – you need to come and see it for yourself!  I have plenty more photos to share, but seriously, grab your girlfriends, head over to Pose and make some magic!
