TIP TUESDAY: PHOTOSHOOTS
Let’s talk photoshoots. Who has time to get fixed up each time you wanna post a photo?? Even as a full-time content creator, I certainly don’t 😅 The solution? BATCHES. Creating content in one big batch makes it easier than ever to knock out a mix of looks to post throughout the week! Rounding up a few of my top tips for creating batch content.
UTILIZE YOUR SURROUNDINGS: As content creators, we always aim to “level up” from our last photoshoot and find a new, undiscovered location. Guess what?? Your hometown is the perfect backdrop! You see these spots daily, but your followers don’t. Stop overthinking it, sis! Utilize the spaces around you. After all, the setting should just be a compliment to your look vs. the focus.
PRE-PLAN BEFORE LEAVING: Where are you heading? What looks are “musts” and which are optional? Think through what outfits you’re packing and try planning them head-to-toe. I used to always get to a location and think “I wish I had these shoes” or “man, I need a different bra for this top!” 😂 Planning your looks makes it easier to ensure you don’t forget items. PRO TIP: Dresses first, pants at the end! Plan accordingly so you aren’t changing in and out of pants all day!
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: For the love, know where you’re going! Try to pick a spot that is centrally located so you can park, change and walk to your next backdrop. I like knocking my downtown content out all at once, then planning a different day for photos located on the other side of town. Not every photo needs a bold background, so plan printed outfits with plain backdrops and make the looks really pop.
FIND A FRIEND: Not only does it save you money vs utilizing a photographer, but getting photos is SO much more fun! Garrett and I have the best time running around town creating content. Find a photoshoot friend that makes you feel confident, laugh all day and helps you with finding the perfect pose.
+ BONUS TIP: Mix up the same look a few ways. Bring a few props. Switch out accessories. Add a purse, change your cardigan, swap your shoes… Whatever you do, make more than one look with the same look!
