Fall has rolled around, meaning iced coffee has transitioned to pumpkin lattes and Nike shorts are swapped for leggings. I’m not going to lie, I spent the last 2 or so fall seasons avoiding the faux leather legging trend like the plague. As a girl with wider hips and thighs, I’ve always been all about diverting the attention away from my legs (hence the big hair and heels). Guess what? I took the dive this year and don’t think I’ll ever go back!

Not only did I get over my fear of faux leather, I went all out and grabbed the moto style. The knee detail adds a little edge but also really assists in drawing the attention away from my hips/thighs. They have the perfect amount of stretch, suck everything in and also feel cozier than my pj’s. My favorite detail – they. have. pockets. You heard me girls, I truly hit the jackpot on these.

Meet my new weekend look! I’m so in love with how these pair with some slip-on sneaks and a cropped hoodie. When we finished shooting photos the other day I slid my card and phone in the pocket and quickly ran in the grocery store. I can chase my busy toddlers around the park, go for neighborhood walks and lounge around the house without constantly saying “where did I leave my phone??” thanks to the discreet pockets! I’m already mentally pairing these with my converse, a baseball hat and oversized graphic tee for an elevated everyday look.

Cozy sweaters are my jam. My only complaint with something this boxy and oversized is it’s easy to lose your figure. I love this style paired with faux leather leggings and boots or heels because it’s so slimming! One of my favorite ways to style a sweater with a funnel neck like this is tossing my hair in an oversized top knot bun and putting on some earrings. One thing to note – when opting for a boot, make sure you choose an option that’s fitted at the top. Slimming your legs is the goal with a super flowy sweater, so keep everything else fitted!
