There’s so many times I straight up don’t feel confident. I know it probably seems like content creators are borderline too confident. Like girl, why do you have so many photos of yourself? LOL. Hear me out though. Most days, or at least multiple moments throughout the day, I am nothing but critical of myself. Maybe someone dropped a mean comment, or I’m sucking at balancing life, or I can’t get my makeup the way I wanted it… trust me, I get so down on myself. Sometimes I can’t break the rut, so I let myself have a few minutes before I force the bounce back. One of my favorite reminders in those moments?
“No one is worrying about me as much as I am worrying about me.”
Think about it. What you’re feeling right now, what you’re stressing over, what seems so overwhelming… will anyone care in 30 minutes? Tomorrow? This time next week? Also, if they do, is that someone you actually want around? Let’s break down a few ways to bring back that confidence when you’re in a rut.
Talk to yourself like your best friend.
You’ll never spend more time with anyone than yourself. Why the hell aren’t you kind to her? It’s so sad how often I catch myself picking apart tiny details. From my appearance, parenting situations to email responses, I grill myself harder than I’d ever treat a friend. Oftentimes I realize, we would never criticize our bestie the way you speak to yourself. Show some grace and stop being your own worst enemy. I promise, it’s taking a toll on your confidence.
Put on an outfit that makes you feel fierce
Confidence starts internally, but there’s nothing like slipping into an ensemble that makes you feel beautiful. Grab a great pair of jeans, your go-to heels and own that you’re a freaking queen. There’s nothing like putting on an outfit and being like “OKAY, I’m living for this.” There’s nothing like slipping into the perfect fitting pair of jeans. I didn’t think it could happen more than once a decade, but I landed on 3 out of 3 in one order with the new Miss Me lineup 🤩
Unplug from Scrolling
The internet is a weird place to be when you’re not feeling your best. No matter how confident or “tough” you feel, the comparison game easily gets the best of anyone when you’re not at 100%. Keep in mind: you’re only seeing the parts of life people choose to share (usually the best parts!) when it comes to the internet. Get away from social media, stop scrolling and do something for you! Go for a walk, talk to your bestie, splurge on Starbucks, have a private dance party, soak in the bath… just do what makes you feel your best.
So, do it. Feel confident, speak kind to yourself, wear what makes you feel like a queen, tackle what intimidates you and fully embrace what defines you. Stop living in the worries that hold you back, and remember, no one is worrying about you like you’re worrying about you.
