A Hidden Gem in Owensboro

DRESS | EARRINGS | SIMILAR SEAT HERE & HERE

Something I don’t chat about enough is my hometown. Y’all, I love my city. Mario and I have moved more times than I’d like to count and still have boxes I’ll probably never unpack up in our attic! We have been countless places, seen other cultures and experienced more than most, but Kentucky is our spot. Owensboro has the best small-town feel with tons of delicious eats, gorgeous views and quick access to bigger cities a short car ride away.  We’re a few minutes from my parents, the community is super tight and we get to experience the best of each season.

Speaking of seasons, I’ve been counting down the minutes until spring because I absolutely do not thrive in the winter. The mama in me misses late nights playing in the back yard with our little ones while the blogger in me longs for the day I can get back to taking outdoor photos. This is the part where being a tight community comes into play.

We have been attending events with the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden ever since returning to Owensboro. Let me tell you, the colorful displays and beautiful events continually set a new standard. My sweet friend reached out and let me know the gardens had purchased the most stunning property with a mix of antique and modern feels throughout. I was beyond excited to see the vision for what’s to come in the next few months!  The property, known as WeatherBerry, will serve for events and Botanical Garden festivities once they finish a few projects. This article shares a bit more detail on the history of the property but I just had to give y’all a peek at how pretty this place is!

Mark your calendars, local friends! The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden will be offering their First Saturday FREE Admission series beginning March 6th.  Also take a look at all of the membership and event options WKBG offers. I cannot recommend this hidden gem enough!
